11th June 2011 - Leagues Update

Division One - Leaders On Top
Aberlady knew they had a tough game on their hands this week against the league leaders and so it turned out as EL Co-op ran out 6-2 winners. A comprehensive win for Brian Hunter against S. Dodds was still not enough to cover for the defeats of Jim Pringle at the hands of S. Cochrane and Bill Dunleavey against G. Dodds.

Division Four - Back On Track
Aberlady's second string have hit a bad patch lately but got back on track again in this home game against Dunbar A. Wins for Jock Brodie and Jackie Greenwood more than made up for a narrow defeat for Alfie Moss.

4th June 2011 - Leagues Update

Division One - Points Shared
The Friday game turned out to be a case of de ja vu as Aberlady were again on the wrong end of a one shot defeat with the result again being 4-4.

Division One - A Tied Game
This week saw Aberlady play a Wednesday evening game against Tranent. This home game was very close with the outcome decided by just one shot, unfortunately in favour of Tranent. So although Aberlady had two rinks up they lost the overall points for a 4-4 draw.

Division Four - Another Loss
The division four side were this week away at Port Seton where they lost 6-2.

28th May 2011 - Leagues Update

Division One - Another Loss
An understrength Aberlady first team son the loss of points the previous week compounded by another loss, this time at home against Castlepark by a 6-2 margin.

Division Four - Team Lose Again
Like their division one counterparts Aberlady's second string also suffered s second successive defeat as they went down 5-3 ( away ) against Haddington 'A'.

21st May 2011 - Leagues Update

Division One - West Barns Too Strong
After last week's good result against Haddington the players were confident of picking up a few more points on their visit to West Barns. But the home side proved far too powerful and went on to beat Aberlady 7-1 with Jim Pringle's rink securing the away team's solitary point.

Division Four - Wallyford On Top
The divition four side have had an impressive start to the season but this week they suffered their first defeat - 2-6 - at home to the new team in the league, Wallyford. Only the rink of Jackie Greenwood managed to pick up points for Aberlady.

14th May 2011 - Leagues Update

Division One Beat Haddington
Aberlady went into this game - against Haddington - in confident mood after a fine win the previous week. In a very close game it took last end wins for Billy Dunleavey & Jim Pringle over A O Blair & G Peckham, & a last end draw for Brian Hunter against J Blair to give them a 7-1 win.

Division Four Win Again
The division four team carried on their good work of the previous week as they recorded another good win . Wins on the rinks skipped by Jackie Greenwood and Gus Scott coupled with a draw for Kenny Mason gave the Aberlady team a 7-1 result in their favour.

7th May 2011 - Leagues Update

Division One Win
The second game of the season saw Aberlady bounce back after their heavy defeat of week 1. Billy Dunleavey & Jim Pringle had strong wins against Richard Black & George Cowan which more than covered a narrow defeat inflicted on Brian Hunter by Grant Thomson. This resulted in a 6-2 win for Aberlady.

Division Four Success
Aberlady's division four team started off the 2011 season in emphatic fashion with a fine win over Prestongrange 'A'. Wins on all three rinks - skipped by Jackie Greenwood, Kenny Mason & Gus Scott ensured that the home side secured maximum points in an 8-0 win.



30th April 2011 - Leagues Update

Division 1
Aberlady's season got off to a bad start with a heavy defeat in the first league game of the season. Away to Port Seton they went down 7-1. Heavy defeats inflicted on Bill Dunleavey and Brian Hunter by S. Morgan and C. Valentine respectively was in a small way offset by a battling draw by Jim Pringle against Derek Oliver.




Club News


7th May 2011 - Gordon White picked up his first trophy of the season when he won the Sangster trophy, beating Brian Hunter in the final in a tiebreak.
